Legacy Center Leadership: Responsibility

The distinction of responsibility is never an easy one for people to integrate into their life and choose. However, it is the one that gives freedom and power. Many people say, - I am not a victim - and then they are victimized by their own experience of being a victim. Without standing as responsible, our vision is not a possibility. Responsibility is a stand, a place to come from. It is not the truth. However, in order to create results as a leader in the world, it is the most powerful place to stand. It gives power, not comfort. 100 percent me, zero percent you. If you are not standing responsible, then you are standing as a victim. When you stand as a victim, you give your power away. Responsibility is the willingness to experience you as cause in the matter. You are the creator of your results, especially when you don't see how you have created them. It is not fault, blame, shame, or guilt. These are judgments of good/bad, right/wrong, and better/worse. It is not your obligation, duty or burden. Responsibility is a context to come from. A stand of responsibility allows you to respond with what is called for. You must be totally present to live from the context of responsibility. A stand of responsibility has you think of yourself not as the pawn in life but as the chessboard that life occurs on. When you stand that you are the source, you stand that you are the owner of it all. You are the context that life occurs within. Rather than complain about the way the pieces in your life have moved, you can see the big picture of where you are committed to having the pieces move. You are the space for all of the pieces in your life to move. You are not stuck in the content of your life watching the queen come to get you. You wouldn't be whining, - How did I end up on this chess board - How did I end up in this marriage - How did I end up with this boss -

Each personality draws to itself personalities with consciousness of like frequency, or like weakness. Therefore, the world of an angry person is filled with angry people, the world of a greedy person is filled with greedy people, and a loving person lives in a world of loving people - Gary Zukav
