As part of Legacy Center leadership, teams are challenged to create an extraordinary project that leaves a tangible legacy in the community. They have less than four weeks of planning and cannot spend more than two days of actual physical work on the project, and cannot use their own money. They create extreme makeover projects! The point is to create something amazing from nothing, it is to look at a practically impossible situation and make it happen, just miraculously and quickly.
The NC103 Legacy Center leadership team repainted, carpeted and redecorated 17 rooms in the Durham Rescue Mission's Good Samaritan Inn, a rehabilitated motel. This motel was notorious for narcotics dealing and prostitution. It opened in 2005 as a home for women, children and families in need.
This is a video of the team during the project weekend.
